Half of 2021 has just gone, what have you learnt in the last six months? Here are my 5 lessons that I've learnt;

  1. Letting go.
  2. Write more.
  3. Read more (2X)
  4. Information Diet.
  5. Online shopping.

Letting go

The departure of my late mum really has a huge impact in my life, I wasn't sad when the doctor announced that my mum is leaving us as she have been suffer from the final stage of kidney cancer for the past six months and for us the family members thought this will be a better way for her to release herself from this world. She left us in February 2021.

Right after my late mum's departure I see life differently, nothing is forever in this world, I started to do  house keeping (physically and mentally) for my life, I rethink what I really want in life and what I don't want in my remaining life, this year I am 50, its consider I am in the middle of my life (if I could live till 100). I should spend my precious time with the people I really love, I shouldn't waste too much of my time with the people I don't like. The same apply to the things that I use to do and own, I used to do a lot of stuffs that I think it will help to be enriching my life and sometime end up was not what I expected, now I am very focus,  focus on not more than 5 things at the same times ideally 3 only.

Write more

I am in my final semester of my second Doctorate course (DBA) after this I will be doing my final dissertation which I need to complete 70, 000 words of the final dissertation within a year, hence I need to practice myself to write more and since December 2020 after quitting my management role in TOA after 13 years which I was planning to spend more time with my mum in her final stage of life and I started to write a lot of short story and poetry (will share with you guys more and soon in here HelloDREL.com), and now I really can write more precisely & fast and I am quite enjoy it too.

Read more (2X)

No doubt I read a lot previously but for the past 6 months I read even more, two reasons, first to preoccupied my mind especially after mum's departure and secondly, half of the time our country was being lockdown (even now!). Now, I have develop a really good reading habit, I am reading three different type of books every week. I have just gotten my Kindle last month and I use it for my bedtime reading which is better for my eyes.

Information diet

This is a new term to a lot of people, as I want to live more "simply" (not the simply live my life) & be minimum for my life after 50 and I also want be more focus on what I am going to do, I have unsubscribed a lot reading material as previously I thought they will be useful in advancing my career, as for my new role in New Era University College required me to be more focus & specialise in managing and leadership role hence I will no longer need those information that I used to consume. I learnt this concept from my food diet I only eat the essential not too much not too little.

Online shopping

On yea thanks to the great lockdown, when you can't move around and no place else to go except heading to supermarket weekly to get the essential items hence the only option for me to shop is online shopping. Before this I wasn't a online shopper and now I am kind of enjoy it especially the waiting game after you've check out & paid.
