We do not need to have a big house to call it a home, home is where we can feel safe, comfortable and attached to the space. 

A home suppose to reflect who we are, how we live and our lifestyle. Putting your personal touch by display the decor items that reflect you as the owner of the place (or space), over the time it will grow the sense of belongings. Same goes to the children room, ask the kids what they want or like to display in their space instead what the parent(s) (mother) likes.
